There will be a Book Sale at the Salvation Army Temple, 101 Torbay Road on June 6th from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to books, there will be vinyl, CDs, DVDs, VHS, and audio tapes. Cash, debit and credit accepted. All proceeds will help the Salvation Army Temple pay its sheet music subscription.

On June 13th at 11 am, Church of the Good Shepherd will be holding a brunch. Tickets are available at the church office. Bring your appetite as the menu will include pancakes, beans, hash browns, orange juice, apple juice, tea and coffee. For more information, call 709-747-1022.

After more than 30 years as a staple in the Waterford Valley Mall on Topsail Road in St. John’s, the Michael Donovan Public Library is moving out at the end of June.

The library has served the west end of St. John’s for decades, offering circulation services, programming, and community space for patrons of all ages.

Its last day open in the mall will be June 13.

Officials say a new location is still being finalized.

Patrons are being directed to the A.C. Hunter Public Library during the transition.

NLPL is encouraging updates to be followed through the Michael Donovan Public Library’s Facebook page and its website at nlpl.ca.
